Free Postal Entry: How to Enter TV Competitions for Free
Nearly every ITV and Channel 5 TV competition can be entered free of charge by post. Under UK rules, a competition that charges for a phone or text entry must also provide a free way to enter that operates fairly and at a normal communication rate - and first or second class post at the normal postage cost counts as free as the broadcasters do not receive that money. Postal entries go into the same prize draw as paid entries and have the same chance of winning.
To enter a TV competition by post:
- Find the postal address and any keyword in that competition's on-screen or online terms and conditions - open the listing above and click View Competition for the details.
- On a postcard or a sealed envelope, clearly write the details the competition asks for - usually your name, address and a daytime phone number, plus the competition keyword.
- Post it before the closing date shown on the listing. One envelope counts as one entry. Pro tip: The postal deadline is usually several days later than the online/text/phone deadline to allow for mail delivery!
